Established on August 15, 1947, by the Mahatma Gandhi Seva Mandir Trust in Bandra West, Mumbai, the hospital embodies the spirit of ‘Sarvodaya’ – the welfare of all.
The journey began with the vision of Late Shri Madhavrao Deshpande, a freedom fighter and lawyer. He, along with individuals such as Shri Ratanchand Semlani, Shri Mugutlal Bhatt, Shri Chhaganlal Thakkar, and freedom fighter Smt Bhikubai Samant, laid the foundation for the institution. Starting from a plot purchased from the Bandra Municipal Corporation, the hospital has grown into a multi-storied facility, dedicated to bringing quality, affordable healthcare to the community.
